Welcome to Customer Service at Waikato DHB.
People who enter the hospital environment are finding that having a good healing experience just isn’t enough anymore. Our customers/patients want to feel as if they are the most important people on our staff’s mind. They want to be kept informed, talked to (not at) and to be active participants in their own treatment.
Customer Service in a hospital environment is more than the experience that is available from an interaction with a business – in a hospital it is about true care for the individual involving connection, respect and compassion.
This course will introduce ways to make people feel at ease and comfortable in an environment where they may be feeling apprehensive, confused and uncomfortable.
Over time more modules will be added with the aim of helping us to ensure our customers/patients are accepted and cared for as individuals in addition to having their health care needs met.
