This RNPCH Programme is for Registered Nurses (RN) working in community health settings to enable them to prescribe a limited number of medicines for minor conditions and illnesses in normally health people.   This nurse prescribing level adds to the activities that RNs already contribute to such as health promotion, illness prevention and the clinical management working collaboratively in healthcare teams.

Practice setting: Nurses need to be within the geographical area for Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley District and Wairarapa District. This programme may be useful for nurses working in Māori and Pacific health providers, schools, general practice, public health, wellchild services, services for youth, and sexual health.  Potentially other community services setting such as district, outpatient and home-based services may find this programme useful.
