This course is designed to support new and orientating staff to the nursing theatre environment. 

Topics include:

• scrub and circulating nursing roles in theatre
• aseptic technique, the surgical hand scrub and appropriate surgical attire alongside gowning and gloving 
• surgical count
• safe sharps handling.
