This course is for recording and sign off of the practical assessment element of Peripheral IV.
The overall aim of this course is to prepare you for arterial line management and pressure monitoring.
On completion you will be able to:
- identify indications for an arterial line
- prepare a set prior to insertion
- support a clinician inserting an arterial line
- connect up an arterial line to a monitor for intra-arterial blood pressure monitoring
- sample safely from an arterial line
- care for a patient with an arterial line
- identify when and how arterial monitoring should be discontinued.
