This module is appropriate for Primary Care Practitioners working with interpreters.

The module has a Toolkit and Full Module.

The Tookit is a succinct summary of what is required to work with interpreters including flowcharts that highlight the major issues.

The Full Module is a detailed training resource using video and audio clips from real interpreted consultations.

This external module is provided by the University of Otago and is located and managed on their website.

This course is equivalent to one hour of Professional Development time

Audience

This course is for staff who spend part or all of their working day at a computer work station.

It covers basic health and safety information when using a computer workstation and fosters understanding about the basic factors that can contribute to workplace discomfort, actions that can reduce the risk of developing discomfort, pain and injury at work, and seeking assistance when workplace discomfort occurs.

Frequency

For all new staff who will regularly use a computer. Or as requested by Occupational Health & Safety.

Audience

Registered Nurse and Midwives seeking re-certification in epidural & neuraxial management at MidCentral DHB

Introduction

Aim: To ensure Registered Nurses/Midwifes have the knowledge and skills required to facilitate adult Epidural & Neuraxial Pain Management.  

This recertification includes 20 multi choice questions focusing on:

Epidural Infusion; Patient Controlled Epidural Analgesia (PCEA); & Neuraxial Morphine.

This course is to be completed every three years, after completing the initial epidural & neuraxial certification

An introduction to WebPAS at Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua: MidCentral.

Audience

All staff requiring access to patient records.

Frequency

This course must be completed by all new staff who require this access, and should be completed by existing staff who require an introduction to WebPAS.

The full course will take approximately 2.5 hours
