Falls Prevention and Management

Every year, patients fall and these falls can result in serious consequences for both them and their families/whaanau. Keeping our patients safe is an important part of nursing care, and fall prevention is a key part of this.

The objectives of this course are:

  • To assist you in remembering the importance of protecting our patients from falling
  • To revise the factors that can contribute to a patient’s fall risk
  • To refresh your knowledge of the tools available to minimise a patient’s fall risk

Who is this for: Staff who have direct contact with patients and are responsible for fall prevention and management. Nurses,  Allied Health Professionals (e.g. Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists), and Healthcare Assistants


Time: 30 minutes online module
