Whakaminenga / Who is this for: This programme is for all new nurse to CM from July 2025, including new international qualified nurses (IQNs) and competency assessment programme (CAP) nurses.
Prerequisites: None
Frequency: New nurses to CM attend 3 study days; new IQNs and CAP nurses attend 4 study days followed by week 5 and week 12 supervision sessions after completing the study days.

- All nurses new to Counties Manukau; Orientation programme as usual; All IQNs/CAP nurses: attend week 5 - supervision sessions; 2 hours supported by Maaori Health and facilitated by IQN Nurse Educators (NEs) and attend week 12 supervision sessions; from 1 -3.30pm facilitated by IQN NEs.
- IQNs/CAP nurses who have completed the CM orientation programme in 2024 but did not attend the supervision sessions: Attend week 5 and week 12 supervision sessions.
- IQNs/CAP nurses already employed at CM prior to Orientation and Enculturation Programme: Complete the CM nursing orientation programme in 2025; attend supervision sessions week 5 and week 12.
- Week 5 is 8hours study day including supervision session
- Raahiri and BLS is required
