Care of the Burn Injured Patient - Counties Manukau

About: These study days aim to enhance and facilitate a deeper understanding and level of clinical knowledge related to burn care including the processes involved, and multidisciplinary input involved to promote positive outcomes. For the purpose of these days, the continuum begins after the burn injury.
Mā wai tēnei / Who is this for: RN’s, EN’s, Allied Health and Anaesthetic Technicians working within the Plastics Service (including Burns), Critical Care complex, Emergency Department, Kidz First, peri-operative and community who have completed orientation to their area of practice.
Prerequisites: 

  1. Completed orientation to their area of practice.  
  2. Current PDRP. 
  3. Read a journal article ‘biology of the burn’ 
  4. Complete the eLearning module Enhanced Burns found on Ko Awatea prior to attending the days. 
  5. Evidence of eLearning completion needs to be provided to the facilitator three days prior to the study days.
