This e-learning package is designed to be an introduction to and will provide the learner an understanding of respiratory physiology

Purpose/aim

• The learner will be able to accurately assess a patient in acute respiratory distress, using a systematic assessment process
• Be able to competently and safely use a Non-invasive device in the management of a respiratory distressed patient
• Able to demonstrate accurate interpretation of diagnostic tests, such as Chest x-rays and Arterial blood gases.
• Discuss and demonstrate intervention therapies prescribed for the respiratory patient, such as chest drains, medications and oxygen therapy

Learning Outcomes:

• The modules will assist the learner to better understand the normal respiratory physiology and care for respiratory patients
• The learner will be able to demonstrate this knowledge in clinical practice.
