This course is a pre-requisite for the CPAP study day.

Upon completion the nurse should:

• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the pathology behind obstructive sleep apnoea
• Understand the studies used to diagnose obstructive sleep apnoea
• Understand the difference in mask consumables and determining what would be appropriate for a patient
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge on how to care for a CPAP machine and its consumables
• Understand how to refer to the Sleep Service
