Sensory Modulation Step 2 (Child Youth and Family)

Intended audience: Clinicians who are wanting to develop a deeper understanding of Sensory Modulation and it's application to therapy.

Pre requisite: Sensory Modulation Step One

Exclusions: Adult Mental Health Services and CADS clinicians have their own training in this area.

Duration: Full Day (8 hours)

Course outline:

Sensory modulation involves supporting and guiding service users to gain skills in self-management and changing emotional states by using sensory input and equipment.  It enables service users to learn self-soothing techniques to change their current emotional and behavioural responses.

Upon completing of this training staff will be able to support clients to identify sensory preferences (new and existing) and to apply sensory modulation strategies.
