Serious and Sentinel Events (National Course)

Kia ora!  The content for this resource was adapted for Mental Health and Addictions Service at Waikato DHB from a resource developed with Women’s Health at Auckland DHB and AUT.  This adaptation occurred as part of a research project which involved health professionals from the Waikato DHB being interviewed about their experiences of patients who have died by suicide.

The project was jointly led by Dr Gerard Pauley from the Waikato DHB and Dr Diana Austin from AUT.  

The stories and quotes are from a range of health professionals working within the Mental Health and Addiction Services. 

Who is this for: Any health professional who has had a patient who has suicided.

Time:   5-30 minutes.  The resource is designed to be read in sections or as a whole.
