This course is designed to support nurses, midwives, nurse practitioners and technicians to safely prepare and administer a continuous subcutaneous infusion of medication via a syringe driver.

The use of the syringe driver allows a continuous subcutaneous (SC) infusion of drug combinations to be delivered to the patient for symptom control. This results in continuous plasma drug concentrations preventing high peaks and low troughs in drug level, which can occur with intermittent injections.
