The overall aim of this course is  to provide Counties Manukau healthcare professionals the best available evidence to ensure a high standard of care, and minimise the risk of a patient developing a healthcare-associated infection (HAI) from a peripheral intravenous line (PIVL). This resource must be used in conjunction with the Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau Management of Peripheral Intravenous Line (PIVL) and Infusion Equipment Guideline.
