Restraint Minimisation and Safe Practice for Counties staff

Restraint Minimisation is a national and international initiative to reduce restraint in all its forms and to encourage least restrictive practice.

The document that provides guidance around restraint minimisation in New Zealand is called The Health and Disability Restraint Minimisation and Safe Practice Standards and is applicable wherever health and disability services are provided.

Counties Manukau has a responsibility to ensure all employees have been introduced to the standards and their use within a healthcare setting.
