Kia ora, thank you for taking on the Fire Warden OR Back-up Fire Warden role for your workplace!

Please ensure at least ONE fire warden is on-site at any given time. If the nominated staff are not on-site, please nominate more to cover all your service hours.

Below are the fire warden responsibilities we will be covering at the training:

• Understand the R.A.C.E Procedure
• Understand how Visual Display Panel (VDP) and Manual Call Points (MCPs) work and the importance of these devices
• Understand the difference between Staged Evacuation and Total Evacuation procedures
• Be able to locate and utilise the Warden Action Card (WAC)
• Monitor evacuation routes, check the routes and fire doors are kept free of obstructions, and report all fire hazards without delay
• Monitor the emergency resources to keep them up-to-date and fit for purpose
