This test is required for registered nurses, midwives, and anaesthetic technicians who wish to become certified in basic intravenous and related therapies.
It is designed to test your knowledge of fundamental I.V. care and safety issues associated with I.V. and related therapies, including I.V. opioid administration
This test can also be taken as a refresher training for you own professional development.
1 hour of Professional Development time will be given for the completion of this course.
This course is a short mandatory course designed to bring you up to speed with your responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) which comes into effect on the 4 April 2016.

Inhalers are important devices for delivering medication in the treatment of a number of respiratory diseases. This course teaches healthcare professionals how to use a variety of devices found in New Zealand and gives the tools to teach this to patient.
The main learning objective of this course is to provide competent skills and knowledge required to undertake cannulation as an extended practice in a safe manner to ensure patient care.
Completion of this eLearning module must be completed before attending the face2face IV cannulation course.
This course is worth 1 hour of continuing development time.
