This course is designed for nurses who are working within the Waitematā DHB Critical Care Services as ventilator competent and progressing towards taking care of the more acutely critical ill patient requiring CRRT or as a resource for the annual eCompetence.
It aims to improve the ICU Nurses' knowledge regarding Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and their level of competency in taking care of the patient requiring Renal Replacement Therapy.
By the end of this course the learner will be:
Familiar with the Renal Anatomy &Physiology
Able to understand continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Name common clinical indications of CRRT in the unit
Assist ICU team during insertion of vascular catheter
Initiate, manage and end therapy for patient
Monitor for possible complications
Troubleshoot problems
