Intended audience: All staff who do not have direct patient contact and don’t provide direct hands on care. For example administration staff, volunteers, cleaners, orderlies

Intended audience: All healthcare providers who have clinical contact with patients but who don’t provide direct hands on care. For example psychologists, allied health professionals, biomedical technicians, pharmacists etc

Duration: 1 hour PD credit

WDHB Course

Intended audience: All dental workers (Auckland Regional Dental Service)

Duration: 30 minutes to complete, 1 hour PD credit

Valid for: 2 years (can be repeated annually)


Intended audience: For anyone who wants to learn, and are not required to do Immediate Rescuer or Advanced Life Support CPR courses 

Note - it is mandatory for all staff in Waitematā to complete either Basic Life Support, Immediate Rescuer or ALS Advanced Rescuer

Duration: 1 hour credit

Valid for: 2 years (can be repeated annually)

This course is intended to guide the initial response of any person requiring assistance, that helps maximise patient outcomes and minimise staff risk.

It covers:

  • DRS ABCD with AED
  • Community-based scenarios (non-clinical)
  • Paediatric collapse
  • Choking
  • Anaphylaxis

Whakaminenga / Who is this for: Staff who work in clinical areas and require Immediate rescuer for the area they work in and their scope of practice as per Resuscitation Standards policy (e.g. Registered nurses, Midwives, in-hospital Physiotherapists, Vaccinators)
