Welcome to Waitematā DHB!

As part of your on-boarding experience you are asked to attend the Welcome to Waitematā Orientation workshop which is to welcome you to the organisation and give you a broader awareness and understanding of what our Promise, Purpose, and Priorities are and how we work together to make a difference in each others lives and the lives of our patients and their whanau.

Your first 90 days in an organisation or role is a critical time, while you learn about your new role, team and the organisation. An effective onboarding programme will help you to transition into your role smoothly and quickly.

The checklists, tools and resources provided here are to help you get started with the essential information, training, systems, and people to meet to begin working effectively and in an aligned way.

While we are a diverse organisation, we need to make sure there is consistency in how we welcome and support you into our organisation and your role.

Joining the WDHB as a leader and manager is an opportunity to influence change and make a difference in peoples lives.

Our ability to improve patient experience and outcomes is determined by how we work together with our teams and lead by example.

This onboarding plan has been designed to help you define the type of leader you want to be and how you plan to bring our values to life, but also introduce you to the operational and managerial tasks that are required from a people manager.
