The overall aim of this course is to provide you with a basic understanding of the Shared goals of care process and introduce the tool-Serious illness conversation guide (SICG) . This will support you when having discussions that involve what the patient and Whanau want in their treatment. The SICG is a national directive and is one of the tools that as health professionals we can use to reduce and dismantle health inequities and role model best practice.
