About this course

This course focuses on developing the necessary mindset and skills to:

  • Define coaching and describe its benefits to the organisation, staff and yourself.
  • Recognise everyday ‘coachable moments’ and how to structure them.
  • Describe the key attributes of effective coaches.
  • Trigger a resourceful state-of-mind as a pre-requisite to a successful coaching interaction.
  • Listen actively or reflectively to build rapport.
  • Use appropriate coaching questioning skills.
  • Use the GROW model in short coaching conversations to develop the skills and performance of others.

The course focuses on participants being flexible in using these skills. During class there is some theory, discussion and sharing of ideas, with most emphasis on demonstration and practice, in a fun and safe way.
