About this course:

In order to gain competence to perform male catheterisation within your practice area, you must complete the following e-learning and practice assessment. 

Following the completion of the module the Registered nurse will:

  • Have the knowledge and skills required to confidently and safely insert a urethral catheter into a male patient as per the recommended best practice.
  • Demonstrate effective use of the catheter insertion algorithm, reducing the risk of patient complications and increasing comfort.
