This course covers the Infection Control '5 Moments of Hand Hygiene' topic. The purpose of using the '5 Moments of Hand Hygiene' is to ensure that cross-infection is minimised.

 

This is a mandatory course for all clinical staff.

This course is for registered nurses and midwives.

 

This course is designed for all nurses, other health professionals registered under the HPCA act 2003 and unregulated healthcare workers (e.g. HCA's, MHAW's, Community Support Workers).

All registered nurses beginning work in the Northland DHB need to complete this education module within the first 12 weeks of employment or as directed from your professional development plan.

About this course 

This course is for all Northland DHB staff. Every year, patients fall and these falls can result in serious consequences for both them and their families/whanau. The course objectives are to:

  • Remind you of the importance of protecting our patients from falling
  • Revise the factors that can contribute to a patients individual falls risk
  • Revise the tools available to minimise a patients falls risk

Please note: The intent of this module is to refresh existing knowledge, and support your high standard of practice.

 

This course is for registered nurses and midwives.

All  staff who move or handle patients. 

This course is mandatory for all new clinical staff (Registered Nurses and Doctors) working in adult inpatient areas. This course is also available for clinical staff.

This course is designed for all staff employed by Northland Distict Health Board who have contact with the public.

This course has been designed for all regulated health professionals.

All new house officers should complete within one month of joining NDHB.
