About this course

This is a 3 hour face-to-face course updating managers about their responsibilities under the Health and Safety Work Act 2015, and how we deliver these at Waitemata DHB.

Aim and Objective

  • Understand the legislative and policy frameworks that define a healthy and safe workplace/culture.
  • Understand responsibilities as a Manager of Waitematā DHB regarding Occupational Health and Safety under the HSWA and how this is fostered in a team and service, so shared responsibility is evident.
  • Be able to act proactively and decisively in the workplace to establish, manage and apply corrective actions to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Understand and be able to access and use Waitematā DHB’s Occupational Health and Safety Service (OH&SS) tools efficiently and effectively.

Please note: Prior to signing up to attend this course please ensure you have discussed with your manager and gained approval to attend so that appropriate measures are taken to manage staff cover in your absence from your role.
