Intravesical Therapy

Welcome to the intravesical therapy e-learning module.

In Waikato the nurses performing intravesical therapy are required to be competent and confident with intravesical therapy procedures.

To achieve intravesical therapy competency the nurse needs to successfully complete  :

1. The intravesical therapy e-modules 
2.The EViQ –chemotherapy  module  ( link into intravesical therapy course as must be done )
3.A practical sign off assessment with urology CNS 

Learning objectives :on completion of these modules you will be able to :

1. demonstrate understanding of anatomy and physiology of the bladder

2. demonstrate understanding of the indication and administration of intravesical therapy for bladder cancer

3. Demonstrate understanding of immunotherapy treatment

4. Demonstrate understanding of cytotoxic precautions

5.Select the correct actions to safely administer intravesical therapy

6. Prepare patient education  pre and post intravesical treatment and identify Dx planning actions

Allocated education hours: 4 hours

Practical assessment: 2 hours
