Weekend and On-Call Respiratory Competencies for Physiotherapists

Expectations and Responsibility

This resource is designed to evaluate and ensure the achievement of your clinical competency to work on the respiratory weekend and on-call roster at Waikato Hospital.  You are required to complete this resource before your first rostered ‘buddy’ weekend.  

Once initial competencies are completed, annual competency will be ascertained through self-assessment.

Achievement of these competencies is required by all staff participating in the weekend and on-call roster.  

The orientating physiotherapist is responsible for completing the documentation within the appropriate timeframe, and for ensuring the competencies are signed off by the senior physiotherapist in each area.

This resource needs to be completed at least two full weeks prior to your rostered ‘buddy’ weekend.
