All Auckland DHB staff with direct patient contact are expected to be familiar with the policy on informed consent. Informed consent is defined as the process that provides a patient with sufficient information to make an informed decision about accepting a service or treatment. 

The expectations of this course are that you will: 

• read the policy 
• access any resource page(s) on Hippo 
• complete the self-evaluation section  - this acknowledges that you have read the policy/guideline and have had an opportunity to discuss any questions you have with your preceptor/nurse educator or manager
