Who is this for: Registered nurses, level 2 and above working, primarily in the Starship Child Health Outpatient Clinic setting 
Prerequisites: A comprehensive understanding of the Procedural pain management guideline and standing order. 

Frequency: This course must be repeated annually to maintain currency 

The overall aim of this course is to equip Staff Nurses (level 2 and above), working in the Starship Outpatient Clinic with the knowledge to safely administer Entonox (nitrous oxide 50% and oxygen 50%) for procedural pain relief.  

On completion you will be able to:

• Articulate the indications and contraindications for the administration of Entonox

• Identify the resources available to you to support the safe use of Entonox

• Articulate the legal requirements and responsibilities of administering this standing order

The assessments of this course are:

• Completion of the Quiz with 90% accuracy
