Manawa Ora Mirimiri Hauora Introduction

Mirimiri bodywork is a traditional Māori healing practice. It utilises a holistic approach to restoring wellness to the mind, body, spirit and emotional being. Māori healing modalities, including Mirimiri, work holistically to heal physical ailments, balance wairua (spirit) and mauri (life-force/essence) and aid recovery from trauma or emotional distress. It is part of Rongoā Māori now protected under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is culturally grounded care centred round Te Ao Māori. This service is complementary to our current Raise counselling service.

Manawa Ora Mirimiri Hauora days will be hosted across the District. You can book a 20 minute introductory Mirimiri Wellbeing Session at the Hauora in the Learning Centre Auditorium room at Hutt Hospital on from 10am - 3.30pm on Wednesday 7 December 2022.

At your introductory Mirimiri session you will have the option of lying on a bed or sitting on a chair, whichever is more comfortable for you. You will remain fully clothed and colleagues will also be receiving Mirimiri alongside you.
