Physiotherapy Documentation Training

Purpose

  • Provide basic understanding of Physiotherapy Documentation Principles and Process
  • Enable staff to meet professional, organisational and legal requirements regarding clinical documentation 

Scope

  • All Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, Physiotherapy Students working in Auckland District Health Board
  • New staff in the identified groups

Rationale

  • Practitioners need to be informed and supported to embed the principles and practice of Allied Health documentation
  • ADHB has committed to providing necessary learning opportunities to facilitate this process
  • Training will be mandatory for the identified professions including biannual updates

On completion you will be able to:

  • understand the purpose and importance of documentation,
  • understand the documentation responsibilities,
  • know what should be documented and what to include in health record entries 
  • be confident about when and how to document,
  • utilise guidelines and principles for good documentation, and
  • apply appropriate documentation standards.
