Frequency: New nurses to CM attend 3 study days; new IQNs and CAP nurses attend 4 study days  followed by  week 5 and week 12 supervision sessions after completing the study days. All IQNs/CAP nurses from 2022 -2024 attend 2 study days.

The Baby Friendly Initiative, requires 1 hour of education on Breastfeeding for Māori to increase our understanding and awareness of traditional whangai ū /breastfeeding practices and the effects of colonisation.  All level 3 & 4 staff on start of employment are to complete this online module and then every 30 min of "Breastfeeding for Māori" every 3 years, as part of "The 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding" and the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.

The Deaf Awareness and NZ Sign Language workshop is a 1-hour unique opportunity to learn about Deaf culture and NZ Sign Language from a qualified NZSL trainer.

  2. Complete the Treatment Third Objectives and CT practical assessment
  3. Complete a roster in Rapid Response work area and treatment for minimum of 1 month each 
  4. Complete CPR update and maintain every 2 years. 

This skill-based competency assessment (audit) will be completed after the On-Call objectives are signed off as achieved.

 Uploading your completed audit form constitutes a legal statement that you have demonstrated your ability satisfactorily. 

In due course, the Records Administrator will confirm this and award you a PASS (10/10). 

You must ensure that you have added the missing details and saved these before uploading the form.
