About this course
Reducing Maori Health Inequities in your workplace
Reducing Maori inequities is a passion for many of us in healthcare, so we can become disheartened when our best efforts don't make the difference we want them to.
This workshop gives non-Maori participants insights into the impact that Maori indigenous attitudes, values and relationships have on how we receive or refuse health care services.
We locate your role and your workplace into the Tiriti o Waitangi framework and explain the herculean task of the Maori Health Authority to grow the Maori health sector.
We use Maori-centric and patient-centric narratives in a non-judgemental setting to demonstrate situations faced by clinicians and health administrators every day and offer ways to get a better result in your interactions with Maori and reduce Maori inequities.
Relevant and critically important to all staff working in either Health NZ or Maori Health Authority.
Please
note: Prior to signing up to attend this course please
ensure you have discussed with your manager and gained approval to attend so
that appropriate measures are taken to manage staff cover in your absence from
